Delft the Quintessential Dutch Town

We put Delft on our itinerary because I had read it is one of the prettiest towns in the Netherlands.  Even with our late afternoon arrival in the rain there was a quaint picturesqueness about this lovely Dutch town…

Wow! You will have a very hard time readjusting to life here. There everything is so artistic, fresh, colorful, and refresing – history and modern, home made breads, great coffees, good public transporation, excellent trains, great food, many choices, museums and art! A week from tomorrow and you’re back. Like a wonderful dream to have gone. Savor each moment!

It does seem surreal most days. The people we’ve met love America for its wide open spaces–especially out West. We all relish the unfamiliar and novel. Look forward to getting together when I return.
